Ira Millstein Addresses Impact of New Capital Markets on Corporate Governance in Speech to UK Regulators
Ira M. Millstein, senior associate dean for corporate governance, delivered the second annual Charkham Memorial Lecture hosted by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), the UK's independent regulator responsible for corporate governance and reporting, in London on July 9. In his speech, "Directors and Board Amidst Shareholders with Conflicting Values: The Impact of the New Capital Markets," Millstein addressed the problems for corporate governance created by the power and diversity of today's capital markets and investing organizations such as hedge funds, private equity funds, state-owned enterprises, and sovereign wealth funds.
